Question 98715: Can you help me with this one. I don't understand. Thank You.
A line passes through the origin and the point (-7, 2).
Write the equation of the line that passes through (-7, 2) and is perpendicular to the given line.
Write the final answer in the slope-intercept form y = mx + b.
(The slope and y-intercept must be written as fractions, when needed).

You can put this solution on YOUR website! 2 points are (0,0) & (-7,2)
slope=(2-0)/(-7-0)=2/-7 or -2/7
perpendicular line has a slope of 7/2 passing through (-7,2) is:
2=7/2*-7+b
2=-49/2+b
b=2+49/2
b=(4+49)/2
b=53/2 thus the equation is:
y=7/2+53/2 for the perpendicular line.
