Question 986968: I've been trying to make up my own real life applications of "Negative" standard form numbers, and i want some examples. I searched the amount of atoms a human body contains, but much to my dismay, it turned out to be 7 multiplied by 10 with the power of 27, and that's not negative. I'm really desperate for an answer, it'd be great if i got a quick reply, and i've just started 8th grade. Thanks :)

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
.
It may happen that the temperature outside the window is negative, if it is measured in Fahrenheit or Celsius.

It also may happen that the altitude/the level of a fallen body is negative if it is below the zero level of your scale.

Many things may happen :)
