Hi there,
Using a right angled triangle.
Adjacent = 24m.
Opposite = height of pole
Using trigonometric ratio:
tan = opposite/adjacent
tan (54) = Opposite/24m
Opposite = tan(54)x 24
Opposite = 33.0m
So, Pole height =
33.0 + 1.7 (Emma's height)
Pole height = 34.7m
