Question 985417: Going into the final exam, which will count as two tests, Brooke has test scores of 75, 80, 72, 61, and 94. What score does Brooke need on the final in order to have an average score of 80? Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! average= total/n
total=n*average
n=6, average is 80, so total has to equal 480.
Total of 5 is 382.
She needs a 98.
Another way to do it is to look at + or - from 80.
test 1 is -5
2 is 0
3 is -8
4 is -19
5 is +14
The sum is -18
That has to be made up with a 98.
