Hi dear,
The distance formula for a straight line is given by
d=sqrt%28%28x%5B2%5D-x%5B1%5D%29%5E2%2B%28y%5B2%5D-y%5B1%5D%29%5E2%29
Let the lenght be d,
from your question,
x%5B1%5D=2,x%5B2%5D=10,y%5B1%5D=22,y%5B2%5D=42
substitute the above in the formula
d=sqrt%28%2810-2%29%5E%282%29%2B%2842-22%29%5E%282%29%29
Evaluating the above,
d=sqrt%28464%29
d=21.5
The lenght of QP is 21.5
