Make the width = 'x'
Length = 2x
Area = length x width
72 = 2x *(x)
72 = 2x^2
x^2 = 72
x^2 = 72/2
x^2 = 36
x = sqrt36
x = 6.
Width = 6 inches
Length = 12 inches
