Question 984598: I have a function f (x) = 7/2x-1 and, if possible, am meant to
a) determine f(0), and
b) also simplify the quantity f(1+h)-f(1)
I do not really understand what about f(0) I am meant to determine, and also what the value 'h' is i the second part of the question.
help please?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
a) f(0) is the value of the function when x equals zero,
So where there is an x, replace it with 0.
f%28x%29=7%2F%282x-1%29
f%280%29=7%2F%282%280%29-1%29
f%280%29=7%2F%280-1%29
f%280%29=7%2F%28-1%29
f%280%29=-7
.
.
.
b) The value of h is unknown so keep it as a variable.
f%281%29=7%2F%282%281%29-1%29=7%2F%282-1%29=7%2F1=7
f%281%2Bh%29=7%2F%282%281%2Bh%29-1%29=7%2F%282%2B2h-1%29=7%2F%282h%2B1%29
So then,
