Question 984097: Part A - A 28% w/v stock solution of NaCl is diluted with water according to a 1:8 ratio, and again with a 4:7 dilution ratio. Determine overall ratio.
I solved this as 1/14
Part B - If there is 84g of NaCl in the final diluted solution, determine the total amount of water added to the solution to perform the dilutions.

You can put this solution on YOUR website! I agree, it is 1/14
If there are 84 grams with a 1:14 solution, it should be 2% of the whole amount, which is diluted to 4.2 liters, or 50 fold.
84 grams is 28% of a solution of 300 cc.
3.9 liters of water were added.
The first batch was 2100, to make it 1:8
The second batch was 1800, to reach 4200 cc or 4.2 liters.
