HERE IS THE WORKING;
Since triangle ABC is similar to triagle xyz.
Please,draw two triangles say triangle ABC and XYZ such that they will be of the same kind but different size and label side AB=2,BC=x+5,XY=4,YZ=5x-2.
From your diagramme,you will notice that

%28XY%2FAB%29=%28YZ%2FBC%29
put in those value in the above formula
2%2F4=%285%2Ax%29%2F%282%2Ax%2B5%29
multiply out,
4(2x+5)=2(5x-2)
8x+20=10x-4
2x=24
divide both sides by 2
x=12.
