You can put this solution on YOUR website! Hi dear! Let m=mike
 P=pete
 B=bill
 From the first sentence,if mike ran 8km more than Bill then,
 m=8+B------(1)
 if pete ran 1km less than three times as Bill,then,
 P=3B-1------(2)
 From your last sentence,
 pete ran 15km further than mike,then,
 P=15+M-----(3)
 now,
 From equ (3),
 M=P-15-----(4)
 put equ (4) in (1)
 P-15=8+B
 P=8+15+B
 P=23+B-----(5)
 Put equ (5) in (2)
 23+B=3B-1
 collect like terms
 3B-B=23+1
 2B=24
 divide both sides by 2
 B=12
 Bill ran 12km
 HOPE THIS HELPS;
