You can put this solution on YOUR website! The perimeter of a rectangular building is 170 meters. The area is 1,624 square meters. What are the dimensions of the building?
 ------------
 L+W = 85
 L*W = 1624
 ------
 Substitute for "W" and solve for "L"::
 W = 85-L
 -----
 L(85-L) = 1624
 ----
 L^2 - 85L + 1624 = 0
 ----
 Positive solution:
 Length = 29 meters ; Width = 85-29 = 56 meters

You can put this solution on YOUR website! hi, Let L and w be the lenght and the width
 if perimeter P of the bulding is 170m,therefore,
 2(L+w)=170
 then,
 L+w=85----(1)
 also, if the area is 1624m²,therefore,
 L*w=1624----(2)
 from (1)
 L=85-w----(3)
 put (3) in (2)
 (85-w)w=1624
 85w-w²=1624
 w² -85w+1624=0
 factorize the equation formed above and get;
 (w-29)(w-56)=0
 w=29 or w=56
 put w=29 in (3)
 L=85-29
 L=56
 put w=56 in (3)
 L=85-56
 L=29
 From the above,the lenght L of the bulding is 56m and the width is 29m.
 HOPE THIS HELPS;...
