Hi dear!,
let the number be "x"
if you add 12 to the number,it will be =x+12
if you double it,
it will be =2(x+12)
=2x+24
if the result = 1(1/2)(2x+24)
=3/2(2x+24)
Therfore,
2x+24=3/2(2x+24)
solving out to get x,i have;
2x+24=(6x+72)/2
multiply bothsides by 2,
4x+48=6x+72
collect like terms,
6x-4x=72-48
2x=24
divide bothsides by 2
x=12
The number is 12
