I repeat. You cannot answer this question as posed. You must specify the relative weight of the final exam to the rest of the work that the student has done. For example, if you know that the final exam is 25% (or 20%, or 50%, or 10%) of the overall grade. Or perhaps you know that there were 1090 points available overall in the course, including the final, and the student had earned 977 points so far. But the way you have it, there is no definite answer.
