You can put this solution on YOUR website! A pool can hold 3000 gallons of water, and it is being filled at a rate of 40 gallons per hour. The pool currently has 200 gallons in it. a) Write a linear equation which represents number of gallons in the pool.
 At time = 0, the number of gallons is 200; that is the y-intercept
 Each hour the volume of the pool goes up 40 gallons; that is the slope
 V(t) = 40t+200
 ----------------------
 b) How long will it take to finish filling the pool?
 Solve:: 40t+200 = 3000
 40t = 3800
 t = 95 hours
 ------------------
