Make the length = 'x'
Breadth = x - 7
Perimeter = 2 x Length + 2 x Breadth
1034 = 2(x) + 2(x - 7)
1034 = 2x + 2x - 14
Collect like terms
4x = 1034 + 14
4x = 1048
x = 1048/4
x = 262
Length = 262 metres
Breadth = 255 metres
