You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Thandi=x years old
Sophie is x-6
(x+3)=2(x-3); add 3 years to both ages. Double Sophie's, because she is half as old.
x+3=2x-6; distribute the 2 over the x and the minus 3.
x=9, by subtracting x from both sides and by adding 6 to both sides
Their ages are 9 and 3; ANSWER, THANDI IS 9.
In 3 years, their ages will be 12 and 6, and Thandi will be twice as old
==========
x=boys
6x=girls
Total girls is 360; so 360=6x
divide both sides by 6
60=x
There are 60 boys in the school.
==========================
A=x
B=x-700
C=x-700-300=x-1000
C has x-1000 bags=3600 bags
A is 4600 bags, because we defined A by x.
A needs to make 400 more bags a day if C is making 3600 bags per day.
