Question 980546: "Police arrive at a murder scene at 3:00 AM and record the bodes temperature which was 93F. aT 4:00 AM, after inspecting and fingerprinting the area, they again took the temperature of the body which dropped to 82F. The temperature of the crime scene has remained at a constant 71F. Determine when the person was murdered. Assume that the temperature of the body at the time of death was 98.6F."
-the person was murdered at: am/pm

i really need any help for this problem, i have no idea how to solve to get the final answer.

If the decrease in body temperature is linear, then the temperature drops at a rate of 9 degrees F per hour (from 93F at 3:00AM to 82F at 4:00AM)
From the time of death (body at 98.6F) to 3:00AM (body at 93F), the temperature has dropped (98.6F-93F=5.6F) 5.6 degrees F.
5.6F%2F%289F%2Fhr%29=0.622hr
%280.622hr%29%2860min%2Fhr%29=37.3min
At 3:00AM, the body has been dead for 37 minutes, so time of death was 2:27AM

The data you are given is not consistent with normal temperature change after death.
