The difference of latitudes is 40.5° - 25.5° = 15°.

So,  we need to find the length of the arc of  15°  of the circle of the radius  3960 miles.

It is   2%2Api%2A3960%2A15%2F360 = 2%2A3.14%2A3960%2F24 = 1036.2 miles.

Answer.  The distance between these two cities is about  1036 mies.
