You do not find x equals to anything. You have an expression which either you can simplify or not.

Best is try to check the denominator's factorizability.
Discriminant: %28-4%29%5E2-4%2A%282%29=16-8=8.
Denominator could be factored to have real but irrational constant terms in its binomial factors. Your expression is already simplified.
