Question 980186: a contractor wants to set up a slide for the children to play in the park he wants to set it up a height of 2m and by making an angle of 30 degree with the ground what should be the length of the slide?????????? Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Hi there,
Consider question as a right
angled triangle.
Height of slide = 2m (Opposite side)
Length of slide (Hypotenuse)
Using the angle of 30 degrees we have:
Sin = Opposite/Hypotenuse
Sin 30 = 2/Hypotenuse
Hypotenuse = 2/sin 30
Hypotenuse = 4
So, slide should be 4m long.
Hope this helps:-)
