Remember, the log of a negative number is undefined. So the argument x%2B2 must be positive. So that means this inequality applies:

x%2B2%3E=0


x%3E=-2 Subtract 2 from both sides


So x must be greater than or equal to -2. So the smallest acceptable x-value is x=-2
