8^-x = 100
8^x = 0.01
x*log(8) = -2
x = -2/log(8)
x =~ -2.214619

8^-x /50 = 2
Cross multiply
8^-x = 100
-x log8 = log100
-x = log100/log8
-x = 2.22 (to 2 decimal places)
x = -2.22
