11x - y = -8; multiply this one by 4.
-x + 4y = -11
44x-4y=-32 ; now add the two and y disappears
43x=-43
x=-1
substitute in either one. I will use the first.
1+4y=-11
4y=-12
y=-3
Check with the second.
-11-(-3)=-8 checks.
