Create two equations.
x + y = 98......(1)
5x + 20y = 1225....(2)
.......
Multiply (1) by 20
20x + 20y = 1960....(1)
5x + 20y = 1225.....(2)
Subtract (2) from (1)
15x = 735
x = 49
Substitute x = 49 in
Equation (1)
x + y = 98
49 + y = 98
y = 98 - 49
y = 49
Therefore the cashier has:-
49 x 5's
49 x 20's
