5y%2F4-y%2F2=3%2F4, find common denominator for the right side, by looking at the right side we see it is 4. so: the equation becomes 5y%2F4-2y%2F4=3%2F4 now we combine terms on the right side 3y%2F4=3%2F4 now we multiply each side by 4 to get 3y=12%2F4 reduce to lowest terms we get 3y=3 now divide each side by 3 y=1
answer Y=1
