Perimeter = 2 x Length + 2 x Width
78 = 2L x 2W
...........
Area = Length x Width
368 = LW
So, W = 368/L
Substitute
W = 369/L into
78 = 2L + 2W
78 = 2L + 2(368/L)
Multiply out
78 = 2L + 736/L
Multiply both sides by L
78L = 2L^2 + 736
Sort out
2L^2 - 78L + 736 = 0
Divide thr'out by 2
L^2 - 39L + 368 = 0
Factorise
(L - 16)(L - 23)= 0
Length = 16m and Width = 23m
or Length = 23m and Width = 16m
