F = 2S
He was 6 times his son’s age 20 years ago
F - 20 = 6(S - 20)
Replace F with 2S from first equation
2s - 20 = 6s - 120
Collect like terms
2s - 6s = -120 + 20
-4s = -100
s = 25
Father's present age is 50 yrs old
