You can put this solution on YOUR website!
In a race, each of four greyhounds runs at its own constant speed.
They all start at the same point on a circular track and at 30 seconds into the race, while all are still on their first lap, they have spread out so they are at four corners of a square.
How many seconds into the race will it be when they are next at the four corners of a square?
:
Assume the square track perimeter is 100 yds, then the 4 corner; 25, 50, 75, 100/0
The initial position of the 4 dogs after 30 sec are on these corners
:
After 30 more seconds (60), they will have traveled:
50, 100, 150, 200
In 90 seconds
75, 150, 225, 300
In 120 seconds
100, 200, 300, 400 (all at the starting point again
then
125, 250, 375, 500 all at the corners again in 150 seconds
