Question 977672: kate reads 60 pages of a book on the first day. this is 20% more than the number of pages she reads on the second day. given that she reads 1/6 of the book on the second day. find the number of pages in the book? Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! hi there,
On first day Kate reads 60 pages
On the second day she reads 20% of 60 less = 60 - 12
= 48 pages.
If 48 pages are equal to 1/6 of the book
then, there are 6 x 48 pages in total
= 288 pages.
Hope this helps:-)
