Total commission for the two products is: $4590
0.06*x+0.03*y=4590
x=90000-y
Substitute for x
0.06*(90000-y)+0.03*y=4590
Multiply out
5400-0.06*y+0.03*y=4590
Combine like terms.
-0.03*y=-810
Isolate y
y=$ 27000.00 at 3% earns $810 commission
x=90000-y
Calculate x
