Hi there,
Make father's age = x
Mother's age is then x - 5
Daughter's age is (x - 5)/2
..................
x + x - 5 + (x - 5)/2 = 100
Multiply thr'out by 2
2x + 2x - 10 + x - 5 = 200
Collect like terms
5x - 15 = 200
5x = 200 + 15
5x = 215
x = 43.
Therefore the Father's age is 43 years
Mother's age is 38 years
Daughter's age is 19 years.
43 + 38 + 19 = 100.
Hope this helps:-)

Let daughter's current age be D
Then mother's currently: 2D
Father's currently: 2D + 5
Then, we have: D + 2D + 2D + 5 = 100
5D + 5 = 100
5D = 95
D, or daughter's current age = 95%2F5, or highlight_green%2819%29
Mother's current age: 2(19), or 95%2F5, or highlight_green%2838%29
Father's current age: 2(19) + 5, or 38 + 5, or highlight_green%2843%29
