You can put this solution on YOUR website! Using graphing technology graph x^4-7x^3+12x^2+4x-12. Identify for which values of x the graph is increasing.
-----
f'(x) = 4x^3 -21x^2 + 24x + 4
Solve:: 4x^3-21x^2 + 24x+4 > 0
Ans: increasing from x = 0.1472 to x = 2 and also when x > 3.5

See this:
A. X:-3 to x:-2
That's not it because the curve is going downhill to the right (it's off the set of axes)
B.x:-2 to x:-1
That's not it because the curve is going downhill to the right when x is
between -2 and -1.
C. X:1 to x:2
That's it! The curve is going uphill to the right where x is between 1 and 2.
D. X:2 to x:3
That's not it because the curve is going downhill to the right between 2 and 3.
