Question 976831: parallelogram EFGH has the coordinates E(-7,12) F(5,4) G(10,-8) and H(-2,0). Determine the coordinates of the point of intersection of the diagonals

You can put this solution on YOUR website! In parallelogram EFGH the diagonals are
EG and FH.
By obtaining the mid points of
EG and FH the intersection of the diagonals are found.
Mid point formula = x1 + x2/2 , y1 + y2/2
Using E (-7,12) and G (10, -8)
Mid point is (-7 + 10)/2 , (12 - 8)/2
= (3/2 , 2)
Using F (5,4) and H(-2,0)
Mid point is (5 + -2)/2, (4 + 0)/2
= (3/2, 2)
This the coords of the intersection
(3/2, 2)
Hope this helps:-)
