Question 97683: I do not understand how to to this problem could you help?
Geometry. Refer to the triangl in the figure. Find an expression that represents its perimeter. (I do not know how to show you the tringle but the sides are):
smallest to largest
1/x^2
3/4x
5/x^2
This is my last problem and I am frustrated any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 1/x^2
3/4x
5/x^2
----------
Add these sides to get the perimeter:
= (1/x^2) + (3/4x) + (5/x^2)
lcm = 4x^2
Rewrite each fraction with the lcm as its denominator:
= (4/lcm) + (3x/lcm) + (20/lcm)
Write the sum of the numerators over the lcm
= (4+3x+20)/lcm
Simplify
= (3x+24)/4x^2
