Question 976768: the perimeter of a quadrilateral is 19 inches. The longest side is twice as long as the shortest side. The other two sides are equally long and are 2 inches longer than the shortest side. Find the length of all four sides

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Make the shortest side = x
Longest side = 2x
2 other sides = x + 2
Perimeter = 19 inches.
x + 2x + 2(x + 2) = 19 inches
x + 2x + 2x + 4 + 19
5x = 19 - 4
5x = 15 inches
x = 3 inches
Shortest side = 3 inches
Longest side = 6 inches
Other two sides = 5 inches each
Hope this helps:-)
