Question 97642: Using Algebra Suppose M is between L and N. Use the Segment Addition Postulate to solve the variable. Then find the lengths of LM MN and LN.
Please help me solve this equation:
LM= 1 half z+ 2
MN= 3z+ 3 half
LN= 5z+2

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I take 1 half z to be .5z and 3 half to be 3.5
LM + MN = LN
.5z+2+3z+3.5=5z+2
3.5z+5.5=5z+2
subtract 3.5z and 2 from each side. 1.5z=3.5
divide 1.5 into each side. z=7/3
Check:
.5*7/3+2+3*7/3+3.5=5*7/3+2
13 2/3=13 2/3
