You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x=number of baby dresses MAe sews per week
Alyssa sews at the rate of 25 baby dresses per week (100/4)
Together MAe and Alyssa sew at the rate of (x+25) dresses per week and in 2 1/3 weeks, they sewed 200-25 or 175 dresses which means that:
(x+25)*(7/3)=175 (note: 2 1/3=7/3)
multiply both sides by 3
7(x+25)=525 get rid of parens
7x+175=525 subtract 175 from both sides
7x+175-175=525-175 collect like terms
7x=350 divide both sides by 7
x=50--------------------------number of baby dresses MAe sews per week
CK
25 +(7/3)(25)+(7/3)(50)=200 multiply each term by 3
75+175+350=600
250+350=600
600=600

Hope this helps---ptaylor
