Question 973520: A neighbor can plan his garden in five hours working alone his daughter can do the same work in eight hours how long would it take them if they work together? Answer by amarjeeth123(571) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! A neighbor can plan his garden in five hours
In 1 hour he can plant 1/5th of the garden.
His daughter can plant the garden in 8 hours.
In 1 hour he can plant 1/8th of the garden.
In 1 hour they can together do (1/5+1/8)=13/40 of the work.
Together they can do the work in 40/13 hours=3.076 hours
