Factorize the numerator and factorize the denominator. If you find an occurance of the same factor in both numerator and denominator, then each pair like that will force a removable discontinuity.

A factor occuring once in BOTH the numerator and the denominator makes a removable discontinuity for when x-c=0, if the binomial factor is x-c.
