I'll do 56, which looks tougher, and you can do 48.
5/(x+6)+2/(x^2+7x+6)=3/(x+1)
1st we factor: x^2+7x+6=(x+6)(x+1)
5/(x+6)+2/(x+6)(x+1)=3/(x+1)
multiply (x+6)(x+1) times both sides to get rid of the fractions.
5(x+1)+2=3(x+6)
5x+5+2=3x+18
5x+7=3x+18
subtract 3x and 7 from both sides. 2x=11
divide 2 into both sides. x=5.5
Check:
5/(5.5+6)+2/5.5^2+7*5.5+6=3/(5.5+1)
5/(11.5)+2/(30.25+38.5+6)=3/(6.5)
5/11.5+2/74.75=3/6.5
.4348+.0268=.4615 approx
.4616=.4615 (.0001 rounding error)
