Question 972013: I need help with this problem:
2^(-100x)=(0.5)^(x-4)
I know that you are suppose to have the same base on both sides of the equation to solve the problem but I can't figure out how to get the bases the same. Any help would be appreciated. Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 2^(-100x)=(0.5)^(x-4)
------
2^(-100x) = (2^-1)^(x-4)
------
2^(-100x) = 2^(4-x)
------
Equation:
-100x = 4-x
-----
99x = -4
x = -4/99
---------------
