You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Jessica=1 lawn/35 min=1/35 lawn/min
Pablo=1 lawn/50 min=1/50 lawn/min
Together=(1/35)lawn/min+(1/50)lawn/min=(10/350)lawn/min+(7/350)lawn/min=
(17/350)lawn/min
.
To mow 1 lawn at 17/350 lawn per minute:
1 lawn/(17/350)lawn/min=350/17 minutes=20.6 minutes
ANSWER: Together it takes them 20.6 minutes to mow the lawn.

Jessica can mow a lawn in 35 minutes and Pablo can mow the same lawn in 50 minutes. How long will it take them to mow the lawn working together?
1/35=jessica's work rate
1/50=Pablo's work rate
1/x=work rate jessica and pablo working together
x/35+x/50=1
lcd: 35*50=1750
50x+35x=1750
85x=1750
x=20.6 min
