Let the smallest integer =x
the other two are x+2 and x+4
x+x+2+x+4=-18
3x +6 = -18
3x=-24 (by subtracting 6 from both sides)
x=-8 (by dividing both sides by 3)
x+2=-6
x+4=-4
Those are three consecutive even integers whose sum is -18.
