You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Two similar cylinders have volumes of 120 in cubed and 405 in cubed.
How do I use the scale factor and volume to compute the ratio of their heights?
:
%28pi%2Ar1%5E2%2Ah1%29%2F%28pi%2Ar2%5E2%2Ah2%29 = 120%2F405
Cancel out pi, reduce the ratio fraction
%28r1%5E2%2Ah1%29%2F%28r2%5E2%2Ah2%29 = 8%2F27
note that both the denominator and numerator at perfect cubes
How convenient to make r1=2, h1=2 and r2=3, h2=3
%282%5E2%2A2%29%2F%283%5E2%2A3%29 = 8%2F27
we can see the height ratio = 2:3
