Question 969476: The line models the cost of renting a buke. It's costs 2$ per hour plus a 2$ deposit. Write an equation in slope-intercept form for the line where x is the number of hours a bike is rented and y is the total cost of renting a bike. How much does it cost to rent a bike for 4 hours.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
$2 per hour is the same as 2 * x where x is the number of hours.
since there is a $2 deposit regardless of how many hours you rent the bike you would + 2 to the equation.
y=2x%2B2

x is a variable because the number of hours will vary. you can rent it for 2 hours, or 3 hours, or 4 hours.
The number can change many times.
the $2 deposit will never change. this is considered a constant. because it is constantly the same.

if you wanted to rent the bike for 4 hours it would cost you $10
y=2%284%29%2B2
y=8%2B2
y=10
