Question 969344: the equation of the axis of symmetry of a quadratic function is x=0 and one of the x-intercepts is -4. what is the other x-intercept? Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source):
Hint: The axis of symmetry intersects the x-axis and the x-intercepts are equidistant from any point on the axis of symmetry. Since the origin is a point on this particular axis of symmetry, how far away is the point (-4,0) from the origin? Once you know that, the other intercept is just as far away from the origin but in the other direction.
