I have tried multiplying both sides by +sqrt+%28+2+%29%2Fsqrt+%28+2+%29 , multiplying both sides by +sqrt+%28+7+%29%2Fsqrt+%28+7+%29+ , and 3 other variations on the same theme without success. I know I am probably over complicating things, but I can't remember how to solve this. Please help!

first combine fractions over common denominator which is square root(14)
(square root(7)*square root(7)) + (square root(2)*square root(2)) / square root(14)=
(7 + 2) / square root(14) =
9 / square root(14) =
now multiply numerator and denominator by square root(14)
(9 * square root(14) / 14)
