You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Express the result in simplest form.
___4y____ + __2y____
y²+6y+5 y²-1
------------------------------
[4y/(y+5)(y+1)] + [2y/(y+1)(y-1)]
least common denominator: (y+5)(y+1)(y-1)
[4y(y-1)/lcm] + [2y(y+5)/lcm]
Combine the numerators to get:
= [4y^2-4y+2y^2+10y]/lcm
= [6y^2+6y]/lcm
= [6y(y+1)]/lcm
Cancel the y+1 common to numerator and denominator:
= [6y/(y+5)(y-1)]
