Question 966853: Explain the difference between sin^-1(x) and 1/sin(x), Are there different expressions for both these functions? Found 2 solutions by thesvw, Alan3354:Answer by thesvw(77) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! If you see it clearly, you will see the difference. We put the -1 in different places. and .
Let me ask you, is Sin(x) = Sin multiplied by x ???
It is just a notation. So in your problem, it says inverse!! We write it just to say inverse. Hope you understand.

-------------------
sin^-1(x) is the angle whose sine is x.
eg, sin^-1(0.5) = 30 degrees
It's also called arcsin(x), or just asin(x).

1/sin(x) = csc(x)
