Question 966784: Solve the following equation.
[0 0 -1]
[3 x 0] =x squared
[4 0 3]
All numbers are under a straight line then equal to x squared. My textbook didn't explain how to solve these types of equations even though I did see a practice problem. I could really use the help. Thanks!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Find the determinant of the matrix and set it equal to x%5E2.
-1%283%280%29-4x%29=x%5E2
4x=x%5E2
x%5E2-4x=0
x%28x-4%29=0
Two solutions:
x=0
and
x-4=0
x=4
